As if growing a human inside you wasn’t enough, the rest of your body is left to navigate the challenges of your ever-fluctuating hormones.

Well, we’ve got your back with some information and tips about skin care during pregnancy. You’ve got this, mamma!

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a common and often inevitable part of pregnancy. There are countless products on the market to prevent or help with stretch marks. Yet, the truth is 90% of women get them and creams aren’t clinically proven to prevent stretch marks according to AmericanPregnancy.org. However, American Pregnancy does suggest using a lotion with plenty of vitamin E, like our Pure Moisture Face and Body Lotion, to help. They also suggest exercise during pregnancy to keep stretch marks to a minimum.

Acne

It’s normal to experience more breakouts while you’re pregnant, especially if you’re already prone to acne. This is due to hormones causing your oil glands to create more oil. American Pregnancy suggests a strict cleansing routine—morning and night— to help keep the pimples away and using an astringent as well. We recommend our 3-Step Kit for Oily and Acne Prone Skin if you don’t already have a cleansing system you love.

Pregnancy Mask

At least half of all pregnant women experience increased pigmentation, called pregnancy mask, in their face due to the influx of hormones. If you are dealing with splotches of pigmented skin, the best way to combat them is to wear a daily sunscreen and keep a hat on when you’re outside.
