Spring is so close we can almost taste it - and that means at this Fort Collins natural skin care
company, we’ve got the itch for spring cleaning. If you don’t already have a go-to plan for
spring cleaning, we wanted to get you started with four spring cleaning tips so your home feels
fresh and as ready for the new season as you are. When applicable, we have included our
favorite natural cleaners and tools in lieu of chemical cleaners.
* Clean with Vinegar: If you don’t mind the smell, vinegar can replace many store-bought
cleaners you use in your home. You can mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray
bottle to clean windows, stainless steel, and get buildup off faucets. Check out this
article from Today to read about 28 uses for vinegar.
* Clean with Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is another item you probably have
at home that is great for natural cleaning. It is perfect for removing stains from clothes
(especially blood and dark stains from berries). And it is used as a disinfectant (while
vinegar is not a registered disinfectant) so it can clean areas more prone to gathering
bacteria like counter tops and sinks.
* Refresh Drapes in the Dryer: An article from HGTV recommends refreshing drapes by
throwing them in the dryer with a wet towel on an air-fluff cycle for 15 minutes. The
wet towel will draw away the dust and you will have fresh drapes to hang back up. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to a few wool dryer balls to add a refreshing scent!
* Don’t Underestimate the Power of Fresh Air: For large or bulky items that might not
need to be washed (like pillows and comforters), you can air them off on a clothes line
outside to remove the stale smell on being in a closed-up house all winter.
