Perhaps you have memories of doing masks at sleepovers in high school or smearing mashed up avocado on your face in college. But masks aren’t just for sleepovers or from scenes in chick flicks. Masks are an important part of a healthy skin care regimen. At SkinDeep Naturals, a Fort Collins and Loveland natural skin care provider, we create a wonderful cleansing clay mask. And we have even shared some of our favorite DIY masks to make at home in a previous blog post.
Why use a mask, and how it is different than a daily cleanser?
A daily cleanser is meant to remove make up and oils from the day, provide light exfoliation, and leave your skin feeling clean and fresh. A mask is used less frequently and works deeper to unclog pores, drawing out impurities, and decreasing the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. With our Cleansing Clay Mask, we recommend using it one to three times a week to prevent breakouts and leave your skin glowing.
Cleansing Clay Mask—Purify and Detoxify
The ingredients we use in our mask are especially picked to help you have the healthiest skin. The clay has a high mineral content that stimulates blood circulation and exfoliates. Vegetable glycerin locks healthy moisture into the skin while helping clear our impurities. Our mask restores your skin with Omega 3,6,7, and 9 in the sea buckthorn oil. Plantain leaves speed up the recovery of damaged skin.
Use this mask by mixing a teaspoon of the mask with ½ teaspoon of water, mixing into a paste in the palm of your hand, and rubbing the paste on your face, neck, chest, or back. Steam from a warm bath while you allow the mask to sit on your skin will only increase the benefits by opening your pores. After five to ten minutes use a warm cloth to remove the mask. You can mist before, during, and after this process with our Hydrating Cucumber Mist as well.
We hope you take a few moments soon to treat yourself with a mask. And for more information about masks or natural skin care in general, contact us today at SkinDeep Naturals.
