Fireplace makeover

We tackled a smallish project this past weekend. When I say "we", I mean I dreamed it up and husband did most of the work. Thank goodness he likes doing projects. Because I like dreaming them up!

This is the wood stove in our living room. Our furnace had to be relocated to accommodate the addition upstairs, so this little thing has been keeping us warm!

Although I've never been a fan of painted brick, I ran across a few inspiration pics on Pinterest that convinced me painting was the way to go. This was my favorite:

Because no project ever goes off without a hitch, the painter nozzle was clogged and paint splattered all over the floor and on a few things across the room. So, after an hour of me scrubbing the room down multiple times, painting was resumed.

 First coat.

We're super happy with the outcome. "We" will re-tile the hearth eventually, but this will do for now!
